Classic paintings such as Mona Lisa, The Starry Night have influenced many artists. For example, some artists might use the similar styles in their work, and some might give the original work an artistic twist. Use Mona Lisa as example. This famous painting has been recreated in many various ways, such as Tofu Lisa, Sausage Lisa and Lego Lisa. While today, we will introduce you the work from Turkish art director and illustrator Murat Yıldırım who created something different and show us how Mona Lisa looks like if she was made of fur. Besides Mona Lisa, there are other 5 world’s greatest art masterpieces got a hairy makeover in this “Furry Artworks” series.
The Furry Artworks series has been at the top of Behance’s special selection for 3 months. Behance founder Scott Belsky awarded the Furry Artworks series with the title of “the most innovative reproduction technique of 2020.”
Lastly, there is one thing I have to point out: these furry artworks are not real. Even though they do look very realistic and make you think you can reach out and stroke the thick fur, they are just digital renderings!
