What is art? Sometimes, art just needs to go one step further than what we are doing in daily life. You will know what I mean when you finish reading this post. Might also think, yeah, I did that ton of times before. But why I am not the one who makes that into ART.
1. Art of Ink
When you are child, did you pour the ink into water, and watched it diffusing? An Japanese artist, not only did that, but also inverted the picture and recorded it. The ink in the picture was not going down anymore, it was rising up, and blooming. The artist also made a video with some special effect on it. Looks pretty cool. Here is the video and the some screen shots from it.
Like to play with colorful pencil? Check out how Brooke Inman did?
Everything Color Circle by Brooke Inman. Richmond, Virginia. Just guess all of her drawings were created inside of this circle… lol
3. Art of Words
Did you ever write down some meaningless words, and put them in a certain pattern? The guy called Chris Harrison, a Ph.D. student in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He did lots of interesting visualization projects. Here is some of his words about the the project “color flower” he did:
The resulting visualizations, all of which are aesthetically leaning, use a combined set of 16,276 data points (named colors). The images illustrate various avenues I explored, but my favorite of the bunch was what I dubbed a Color Flower, in which names are colorized and radiate from the center according to their hue. I threw in some randomization to make the visualization more organic and texturally rich.

4. Art of Holes
Did you ever be blamed when you drill holes around on the table, chari, cabinet? See the picture below, you might think “It might be different, if I drill more”. Tina Roeder , a German designer, she drilled “UP TO TEN THOUSAND HOLES” on a chair. And now, the chair turns into an artwork.
