Designed by Mollie and Ben Openshaw from “Design Loves Detail”, this 21 square meters playroom is truly kids’ wonderland. Inspired by the Mollie’s child dream – “I often pretended I was a fairy, and just 3 inches tall.”, Ben, her husband, and a local crafts-person used a laser woodcutter to cut the super-sized images (trees, leaves, grass, clouds) out of sheets of MDF, which Openshaw painted and applied to the walls with glue and nails. When asked why they just painted the images on the wall, Mollie said “My vision was that it would be a 3D world that enveloped the kids, painting just wouldn’t have been enough.”
To support woodland theme, Mollie also manage to found / made many cute accessories like log stools, mushroom stools, branch looking hook, sun light fixture, cloud shaped shelf and snail slider. What a lovely playroom, truly delightful and should help fill a young mind with imagination.
