Running from Siberia in Russia down to Mongolia’s Gobi Desert, the Altai Mountain probably is one of the most desolate and hash terrains in the planet, where you still can see the hunting with eagle tradition been practised by a handful of Kyrgyz and Kazakhs. For Kazakhs living in western Mongolia, hunting with eagles is a proud art, and one of the highest expressions of their cultural heritage. Today, the art is slowly dying out, as there are only about 70 traditional eagle hunters left in the world. Interested in this culture, photographer Tariq Zaidi has been photographing the Kazakh eagle hunter since 2014. Below are some amazing photos Zaidi took which shows us a totally different world of the eagle hunting.
