There are many artist use food as material created various food art. If you ask who is my favorite one, Carl Warner is definitely on the top of my list. Why? The reason is simple – he can create not only create a world with candy (like Willy Wonkaâs magical candy world), but with all the other edible ingredients.
It is not the first time we featured his work from his “Foodscapes” series (previous 1 and previous 2). But seems his imagination is boundless and his talent is inexhaustible. Since 1998, Warner began creating Foodscapes, Warner has crafted a wealth of landscapes using food and exhibited them all over the world, worked with advertising agencies, and even helped to promote healthy eating.
Each âfoodscapeâ is hand-built in Warnerâs London-based studio. The artist first sketches out the composition and then works with a team of model makers and food stylists over two to three days to build each set. Because the fresh ingredients might wilt under the hot studio lights, Warner and his team has to break the set and capture the photo part by part then digitally spliced them together, from foreground to background. Hence it is a kind of combination between photography and digital art.
