Kawaii (cute) is one of the main trends dominate Japanese culture. You can see a lot of unbelievable cute designs from Japan and obviously, it also affects pet grooming style. In fact, Japanese grooming style doesnât follow the usual breed standard cuts and rules for grooming that weâre used to seeing. Rather, the emphasis is to bring out the dogsâ individual personalities and make them look as adorable as possible! Each haircut takes hours as the majority of the styling is all done with hand scissoring.
Amazed by the extreme transformation, animal photographer Grace Chon started to document the before and after comparison. All the images below are from her photo series called “Hairy” and she also published a related pet fashion book called “Puppy Styled” which is available on amazon.
