Schleicherlaufen is held every five years in Telfs. Fathers, sons and brothers – only man are allowed to take part in the actual Fasnacht – are they constructing the displays for the various floats, making or repairing costumes or rehearsing, for in Telfs everything has to be recited by heart. The women sew, clean, darn and polish. Practically all of the town’s 10.000 inhabitants are involved in some way.
