Robin Yayla is an illustrator from Istanbul, Turkey who reinterprets the scenic place in an original way. He infuses his fun and colorful illustrations into pictures, changing the characteristics of landmarks or buildings. By doing that, he shows us those famous landmarks in a new perspective. According to him, his aim through his creations is to put a smile on his viewers’ faces.
Robin’s landmark illustration combines his passion for traveling and drawing. It’s much more fun to give a slightly different meaning to pictures one usually takes on a trip. For example, he makes Spiderman sit on the Tower Bridge of London, UK, and depicts the suspension cables of the bridge as him shooting his web. However, his best one yet is transforming the Heydar Aliyev Center, a building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan, into Marilyn Monroe’s iconic gown blowing up in the wind.
