Eggs play an important role in the Easter celebration. No matter it is edible chocolate egg, decoration egg or artistic egg-shell carving, there are just so many variants of eggs. Although it is a bit later to buy some egg decoration online, we still can enjoy the beautiful pictures of egg art and self-taught illustrator Dinara Mirtalipova is our artist for this year.
Using a fine paintbrush, Mirtalipova embellishes the wood and porcelain eggs with delightful designs reminiscent of Uzbekistan’s age-old arts and crafts culture. The decorative birds, ornamental flowers, and stylized sprigs of leaves that adorn each elliptical figurine capture both the artist’s characteristically graphic aesthetic and her fascination with her home country’s flora and fauna. Quite impressive right? Looking at those eggs make me think maybe it is time to work with my egg dye kits again. ;)
