In today’s post, I will present 10 creative life gadget design. Some of them are still concept design. They might be smart, bizarre or even silly designs. Anyway, let’s see how those designer try to improve our life. Hope you enjoy.
1. Floating cloud bed design concept [link]
Critics of this very cool-looking futuristic furniture design have been quick to point out all kinds of problems this poses with regards to the laws of physics. Suspend your disbelief for a moment, though, and simply imagine yourself on a comfy cushion hovering in the air.
Based on electromagnetism, this cloud couch design of course needs to deal with issues like metal objects in the environment, your pockets or even your body. Regardless of the real-world dilemmas the implementation of such a design would entail, however, it is still nice to dream (though it might be even better on a big puffy cloud in the sky).
2. Round bookcase couch rolling design [link]
As a conceptual design, this sleek curved bookcase looks ideal for storing things, sitting and reading. One has to wonder a bit about the lack of base and the potential for roll but weighted right and this bookcase design could be relatively believable. Better yet, what if it were designed somehow to roll on purpose?
3. Eco-Friendly Lighting with Recycled Paper Lamps [link]
Recycled furniture, furnishings or fixtures do not have to show themselves to be scrappy or trashy in their origins. Some eco-friendly reused materials can be appropriated to create amazingly delicate and elegant designs, as is the case with these phenomenal paper lamps by interior, product and fashion designer Yu Jordy Fu.
4. Sheets and Pages: Readable Book of Hotel Bedcovers [link]
The Great Eastern Hotel and fourteen students from the Royal College of Artโs acclaimed Design Products department led by Professor Ron Arad designed reactive installations and objects that invite guests and visitors to take part in an experience and step into a hidden dimension where a hotel is more than just a place for the night. Part of the project is Bedtime Stories. This blanket, designed by Tiago da Fonseca, has several sheets containing a traditional bedtime story. 10. Scan-and-Draw Color-Changing Pen Design [link]
Any artist or designer who works with color knows that the best inspiration and perfect coloration can often be found in real-life objects all around us. What if you could take your trusty drawing pen and simply scan any color you want and then turn around and draw with it? This innovative pen design by Jin Sun Park allows you to do just that. Next step? A complete texture selector and replicator?
A color sensor on the top of the pen registers the color of the object you select, which in turn is displayed digitally on the back of the device for verification. Red, green and blue inks are then mixed – much like in a traditional printer – to create your desired color.
