Hanoi-based graphic designer and illustrator Tùng Nâm recently rediscovered a hidden gem from his college days. While cleaning his computer, he stumbled upon the Endangered Species Stamp Collection, a project he created while applying for an internship at Printopia, a local design agency.
The collection features 15 species of endangered animals, digitally rendered in a striking low-poly design, a style that gained popularity in the 2010s. “This was my qualification test,” Nâm recalls. Inspired by his old work, Nâm decided to refresh the illustrations and share them with the world again, 10 years later.
Each stamp showcases an endangered animal in vivid colors and bold patterns. Among them are the brilliant red-masked Vietnamese pheasant and the jewel-toned Nicobar pigeon. Every stamp also includes the animal’s scientific name and the year they were first classified.
Nâm’s work often reflects his deep connection with nature, a theme evident in this Endangered Species Stamp Collection. He is also working on a new series, What if it Snows in Hanoi?, which imagines snowfall in his tropical hometown. “I can make snow possible with my paintbrush and imagination,” Nâm says.
You can find the first part of that series on Behance, and follow along on Instagram for updates.
