Honestly, I am not a big fan of food carving since I think it is a kind of wasting food. I do agree some talented artists can carve something really cool out of the food, but for me, food is for eat. Anyway, I stumbled upon the avocado carving by Daniele Barresi, an award-winning design carver. Instead of using melon or pumpkin these normal food as canvas (of course, he still create food sculpture from these normal fruit/vegetable), he uses something really unconventional for me, avocado.
I simply can’t understand how Barresi can carve such intricate things out of avocado. Avocado has such interesting texture and so easily get brown-ish. I am not sure how long takes Barresi to carve one avocado. I bet it won’t be long. Scroll down to check some the amazing avocado carving from Barresi.
