Who would have thought you could make a living out of frogs? French knitter Elliot did—though his frogs are crafted from yarn, not nature. These charming, fashionable knitted frogs have captured hearts around the world.
Elliot is a self-taught knitter, crocheter, and multi-talented artist who also enjoys drawing, tattooing, embroidering, and working on anything involving craftsmanship. His journey into knitting began in childhood, with his grandmother teaching him the basics. Soon after, he taught himself to sew and developed a passion for creating doll clothing, whether sewn or knitted. As a young creator, Elliot even ran an Etsy store featuring his handmade designs.
After putting his craft on hold for a few years, Elliot rekindled his love for knitting in 2022. What started as a project to create stuffed animals for a friend quickly evolved into something larger. Inspired by the work of @dotpebbles_knits, Elliot created his first knitted frog, and his passion for crafting these unique creations took off.
Encouraged by family members, Elliot decided to start selling his creations. Initially hesitant due to his anxiety and living off disability benefits, he took a leap of faith. The result was “Heknitt,” a thriving brand where Elliot now sells his charming knitted frogs and patterns, delighting customers worldwide.
Through Heknitt, Elliot has turned a childhood hobby into a creative career, proving that art, perseverance, and a little imagination can lead to extraordinary opportunities.
