Imagine living in a home where pastel tones and smooth, curving lines create a serene atmosphere. This is the essence of Marshmallow, a 2800-square-foot penthouse in Gurugram, India. Designed by Design Doodle Studio, led by Vijay and Maha, this project redefines luxury and comfort, aiming to envelop the owners in a cozy, marshmallow-like embrace.
The studio’s philosophy shines through in Marshmallow, reflecting a home that serves as a sanctuary. Inspired by the client’s wish for a relaxing yet luxurious environment, the design weaves a narrative that mirrors their personality and lifestyle. Soft curves and marshmallow shades create an inviting and sophisticated space.
Warmth and elegance are the project’s hallmarks, with every material and detail chosen to evoke emotion. Minimalism, smooth curves, textured elements, and arches highlight a design ethos that values simplicity and character. Plush fabrics, seamless surfaces, and subtle textures make the space both familiar and playful.
The penthouse layout was reimagined for enhanced living, transitioning from a four-bedroom plan to three larger bedrooms for a more open environment. The entrance lobby, a circular space, leads to two distinct zones: a private area and an entertainment space.
The color palette, reminiscent of a marshmallow dipped in hot chocolate, adds tranquility and elegance. Thoughtful details include microcement floors and bespoke Venetian terrazzo inlays. Fluted details on walls, kitchen cabinets, and storage components tie the design together.
In the primary bedroom, the bed sits elevated on a platform with a carved arch opening. A large pillar, wrapped in neutral tones like sand in a jar, serves as a visual divider between the bed area and the rest of the space, adding a touch of privacy.
