Graduated from Moscow State University, Igor Verny is an engineer in the field of metal, and a specialist in the evolution of stars and astrophysics. As Verny said, “At heart I’m an artist and I see the beauty of this world in bright colors, but I’m also a mechanic, and these two qualities help me to create.” Due to this passion, Igor Verny uses scrap metal and other discarded objects such as auto parts, parts of old watches, cigarette lighters, home appliances, electronics, etc to assemble steampunk-inspired creatures like bird, insect and ocean animal that are fully articulated and can be shaped into realistic poses of daily activities.
If you take a close look at these sculptures, you will be amazed by the details Verny includes. These are definitely art, but in the other words, they are great toys and ever-changing display as well.
