Guy Howard-Willis has always had a passion for cycling and watersports. That passion drove him to found Torpedo7, New Zealand’s leading outdoor and adventure sports multi-channel retailer. Inspired by hydrofoils technology, Guy’s vision to replicate the cycling experience on water became clear. Work with bike designer Roland Alonzo, an electric-assisted pedal bike for water use is bought to life. Hydrofoiling drastically reduces drag, allowing you to cut through fast-moving water easily. The front tiller section, surfaced with the choppy seas in mind, lets you carve down steep ocean swells and over rough chop. So if you like cycling and water-sport, this sounds like a prefect invention. However, the pre-order price for the water bike is around 5200 USD. Still sounds quite pricey for me.
